Modularity Lite is a free multimedia theme framework for Wordpress by Graph Paper Press. The theme design was developed with users who appreciate visual browsing and prefer a minimal layout, with their photos and multimedia featured front and center. No support for this theme at all, huh? That sucks. I realize it’s free, but I would be at least giving you a little advertising at the bottom of my blog if I used the theme. I can’t use the theme if you provide no support at all, though.
There is always the option of updating the theme for yourself
There is nothing stopping you. We are releasing an update soon, but the timeline depends on our schedules.
All fixed! I created a second Modularity Lite blog without all the extras and then went page by… I would copy a page code to a notepad file. Then, replace the customized page code from Blog 1 with the basic code from Blog 2. If say, swapping the simple header page code out didn’t fix the problem, I would put it back to the customized version (that sat waiting in notepad) and move on to the next page.
It turned out it was my index.php page I had messed up. As soon as I replaced it…. Bravo!

I installed Modularity Lite and I have my home page set to show my 10 last posts but it only shows an image with the latest post. Is there a way to make it show images for all of the posts?

I am using the slideshow for my website and i need help making the photos on there linked with URL’s….how am i supposed to do that??
Also why does it never work to have the photos with Caption’s with this theme??
I like this theme very much but i have one question.. how to transform those menu to classic menu? I want my PAGES to show in one line, instead of drop downs.. But anyway, this theme is fantastic. Thank you, Irena.
I love this theme but have 2 major issues. I can’t for the life of me get an image to center in a post. Centered images always display floating left. Right and left aligned images display fine. I’ve spent hours looking over the stylesheet and can’t find any problem. I can change the top and bottom margin of the image but adding or changing the values for left and right do nothing. At the moment it’s set to: {display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;} I’ve even tried styling the image from within the post with no luck.
The lightbox function shown on the 6th test post in the demo doesn’t work either. Should that be a part of the theme or is it an additional plugin?

I had the same problem with centered images who just float left, but I solved it by just delete this 2 lines in the style.css-paper. The line who starts with “img.aligncentered { }” and “.aligncenter,div.aligncenter { }”. Hope it can help you too.
The only issue that i have is that i cannot make the slideshow to show up.
Under the Theme manager i activated the slideshow, but nothing happens, i have the jpeg’s with the same name and in the same folder.
Activate Welcome Box too.
Thank you very much for the theme. It’s awesome. However I had issues with the width of the bottom columns so I specified a width for these in the CSS which fixed it. I’m also having the same problem Joe Gold is having. I insert images into my posts, usually from my Flickr account. But the only image displaying is the latest post. When I view the source of the page, the other posts begin with the paragraph after my photo. Going back to the admin side of my site I see my images just fine. Why/how does this theme remove the photo from each post except the latest one? I understand there is no support for the theme, but a hint would be appreciated.
I’ve signed up as a member and checked the “Freebies” subscription, but I can’t download any of your freebies. ARGGGGHHH!! What am I doing wrong?

using WP 7.8.1: in Theme Options for Modularity Lite 1.1 when toggling off Slideshow, won’t save change. same for Sidebar; won’t save toggle to ‘off’. default seems to be on.
also, widgets aren’t showing up after saving in Dashboard.

help! i’m using a modified version of this theme but it keeps reverting to the default theme about every day. i can’t figure out what to do. i go to the wp settings and activate a different them, then reactivate modularity lite, and it works… until it defaults to another theme. it happens even when i’m not making posts or doign anything to my blog. i would like to pay a freelancer to help me fix this. i have no idea what to do and i’m at wit’s end. please email me at “n s wel ton” (put all those letters together) at hot mail dot com.

I recently installed the Modularity lite theme in order to have a more photography related blog, but I have some Issues with it.
I will briefly explain what I would like with this theme:
The images that I would like to display in my blog are hosted on Flickr with a maximum resolution op 800 pixels (long side).
The Modularity lite theme requires images with a width of 950 pixels in order to fill the page (theme layout).
I do not want to host 950 pixels wide because I post my images also on photography related forum and there the maximum is always 800 pixels.
I can post the Flickr hosted images (800 pixels width) without any problem on my blog with the Modularity lite theme, but there is text to the right of the image due to the theme’s width of 950 pixels for an image.
Only when I upload an image to my Wordpress server and add it as a 950 wide image the text will appear below the image, but I do not want to host a duplicate on my server due to data traffic limits.
Does anyone has an idea how to alter this theme so the image width is 800pixels wide instead of 950.

I am using Modularity Lite. I would like to know if anyone know how to show up the slideshow/header on all the pages. I only can see the slideshow/header on the main page. But not in other pages..

Hi! I love this theme, except that nothing is working on it! First I’ve removed the images from the slideshow and added my own with the correct names (image1 etc.) secondly ive changed the hex values on the theme options page, but nothing work..i keep looking at the dumb football player and i dont know how he even still exists on the page since i deleted it from my ftp

Beautiful template. I’m now using it for my business photography blog. But I have two very big problems:
1/ All the entries were clipped so that images wouldn’t show up when browsing.
2/ All my text formatting is seriously screwed up. Any text above the first image in the entry is fine. Any text afterward (for instance, captions over each image) ends up squashed in some random corner of the entry box. That doesn’t even make sense!
By searching these comments I so gratefully found a solution for #1… removing a single = sign from the blog.php file within the apps folder. I’m not that great with PHP so it took me a while to even find that file. Thank you to the individual who put that out here.
Alas, after much searching an testing I have found NO solution for the text problem, as mysterious as it is.
I did find by experimenting that if I went into the entry code and placed a ‘br clear=”all”‘ tag after every. single. image. it would return the text formatting to normal. But why did it even do this in the first place? And it is out of the question to think I can go through three years of business archives and do this to every single entry and image. Is there any way I can fix this on a more global scale? I mean, I’ve never once encountered this issue with ANY template I’ve ever used… there has to be something weird doing it! Help!

you can easily change the pictures slide show in homepage by changing them manually that located in \themes\modularity-lite\images\slideshow

Problem solved. Sorry for the troubles. I had renamed the images 1.jpg instead of image1.jpg. thank you.
I’m having a hard time with the simplest thing- changing the ‘link color’ and background color (the far outside borders). I’m just trying to change those 2 aspects without loosing the nifty abstract page in the background. When I enable the ‘customize layout and colors’ I loose the abstract background… anyways around it? maybe something outside of the theme options I could change?

I use the two column option but would like to make the post width wider and the sidebar narrower so I can fit a 600 px wide photo rather than resize it down to 590px I have been through the code but cant find anything – is this possible does anyone know? I Only need another 10px

Hi – I installed the theme and the slideshow was working but then stopped worked and the height changed to 590 (and included part of the next photo) even though I told it in the theme options to be 425. I overrode the max height in the CSS as a temporary fix, but I would really like the slideshow to start working again. that is the only change to the style I did…
