    awesome theme!

  2. The java script is too over, radical reaction when mouse over circulate through images thumbs, the effects is not good….

  3. Awesome! I’d be super keen on a design with similar colours etc to modularity (a bit classier). Does it come with a darker option?

    Brilliant theme. Well done.

    Thanks!

    Does WP-Post-Thumbnail work with 2.8

  7. Katie Allen says:

I would ask this on the support forum, but I can’t get in. I’m having trouble setting up the portfolio slider. I followed the instructions on the instructions.html page, but no image is showing up. The directory is located in my “wp-content” folder, and is called “uploads. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.
The theme looks beautiful here though! :)

    • slider? What are you doing to upload your images? You only have to click the add an image button and add your images. Do NOT insert into the post itself. Just save them (in the gallery) and the code will automatically pull the mediumsize images and thumbnail size image (for home / archive pages)

      • Katie Allen says:

I’ve been doing that, but it isn’t showing up. I’m adding my images from my desktop, so it’s creating a database called “uploads” and I can see the file on my FTP. Where should the images be located? Thanks!

  8. Great job! I think this is really close to what I’ve been looking for in a theme. As much as I like the idea, and overall look and feel, behind Fullscreen, it’s a bit too busy for me. This is cleaner and easier to use IMHO.

  9. Randy Walton says:

The instructions for us poor free members arent detailed enough. How do you separate the blog from the portfolio. Also the drop down on my portfolio is showing oddly.

  10. joseph john says:

I don’t see option to leave comments on post pages… is this missing ? or it is designed like that ???

    • Yes, its designed like that. Comments can go specifically on the Blog section. Portfolio is just to showcase your work not for discussion.

      • Even if it is designed like that, is it possible to arranged for comments to work on the Portfolio posts?
I would like to have people commenting on the works there too.

Thanks for the great new theme anyway.

  11. Guys, I have updated the post with video on how to setup Work-a-holic. Hope that helps on your setup as well.

    Thanks!

  12. Philip Dygeus says:

Wonderful theme. I must be misunderstanding the instruction not to “insert into post”. I can only insert images into posts by clicking that button in the image library. But when I do, the image shows up twice in the post: as a medium-sized image top left, and then full size below. Is this how it is supposed to be?

    Thanks

    • After you upload the image, do not click insert into post. It automatically should be associated with the post. To confirm, just check if you can see the Gallery (1) (sort of) tab after you upload the image. Save changes and exit. When you publish, you will see the image(s).

If you click insert into post, yes, the images will be printed twice and ruin the design.

    Hello,

Nice theme and nice eplanation video.
Could you tell me how to change the bg image on roll over on the thumbnails images in the header? Thank you!

  14. Anne Bourguignon says:

Also, i would like to take away the brown border around the images if possible.
    Thank you,

  15. Anne Bourguignon says:

    Hello,

On the homepage header, the images are stretch to fill the thumbnails, is there a possibility to crop them instead because the quality is not good.

I tried to change the settings in the media (choosing crop) but it doesn’t work on the homepage. Any help?

    Thanks

    • Hello,

I didn’t find anything for this and i can’t leave the site like this, it doesn’t look good at all. Any help?

Thank you & have a nice day,

  16. Randy Walton says:

I would like for the brown border to adjust itself and fit to each image in the post. is there a way to accomplish this?

    • Yeah, it would be rad if it did that and centered the image in the column. Some images (especially portraits) are almost too big at 600 pixels wide. This is a killer theme though! This is pretty much exactly what i’ve been looking for. Great work and many thanks!!!

    • Did you figure out a solution for this? It’d be nice to have the border automatically fit the image. Please let me know. Thank you!

  17. Guys, this is a free theme and doesn’t come with support. If you need support, please subscribe a membership so you can access the forums. That way, it will also help us and we will be able to help you more. Otherwise, feel free to make changes on your own.

    Thanks!

  18. Thank You Chandra & Help Anyone…

Is it possible to get comments going in the Portfolio posts…?
Has anyone managed to do that?
I would like to have people making comments there too.
It would be great to have that on both the Blog & the Portfolio sections.

    • I have figured it out… lot of luck !!
For this theme to be PERFECT all it needs now are excerpts showing up with the thumbnails/Portfolio…
      Anyone?!

      • Can you tell us how you got the comments in the portfolio John?

        cheers :)

        • on single.php just remove the if condition here:

          <?php if(in_category($blog_ID)) { comments_template(); } ?>

        • Actually, Chandra’s suggestion would remove the ability to make comments on your blog posts.

        • My bad….my apologies Chandra…she is correct.

        • You have this code in single.php

          <?php if(in_category($blog_ID)) { comments_template(); } ?>

You need to remove the if condition and replace it by just

          <?php comments_template(); ?>

  19. Nice for a free theme, but missing some key functionality.

  21. I too am wondering about some changes to your site. How do you add a logo to the upper left corner where the work-a-holic name is located?

  22. Hey Chandra/GPP

Great job on the theme. Had 2 quick questions:

    1. Is it possible to make my home page my Blog instead of the “Latest Work” and make my Portfolio page the “Latest Work”?

    2. And how do I change the category for what’s displayed in “Latest Work”?

    Thank you for your help!

  23. I cannot get WP Thumbnail to work. I am using WP 2.8. There is no way for me to do custom settings in the settings panel and the thumbnails don’t transfer to the front page after crop. It just takes the image and shrinks it to size. Is there anything I can do to fix this with that plug-in, another plug-in or a custom field?

    • Mine is working but when I change the preset to “thumbnail-wide” my thumbnails just vanish. If I change it back to the default, then it shows an image, just not the thumbnail I’ve chosen/cropped, more like what you describe of taking the image and shrinking to size. I’m guessing I’ve missed something obvious.

  24. Same problem as Chris – WP Thumbnail does not work with WP 2.8 (for me). I’ve followed all of the instructions and I get a “nullpx” error. On the settings page, I can’t even change the options. I’d really like to change my thumbnails but I don’t know of a workaround.

    Thank you for the theme.

  25. Work-a-holic is a great looking theme. And of course the best part is that it is free! Thanks!

having some trouble locating where to limit the number of rows in the “latest work” section on the front. If anyone has any clues, let me know please.

Thanks for the theme, this is one of the best ive seen, and i love it. thanks!

  27. This is such a lovely theme! Awesome job and I’m grateful to be using it!

  28. Brilliant Theme guys,

Having a little trouble swapping the title in the masthead for a logo image .png file.. any pointers would be marvelous!

    Cheers!

  29. Loving this Theme but having problems to link it with my twitter … Can someone help me doing that pleaaaaaase?

  30. This is a great theme, just the kind I was looking for to get my portfolio out there. The problem is that for some reason the portfolio section isn’t working for me. When I roll over the header links they don’t drop down and my portfolio posts display the images inline, one after another, down the page. Can anyone help me out?

  31. Hello!

I love the template, thanks! I was wondering what I would have to do to get the gallery images full size? (without the side-bar widget) when you click through the galleries.

    Thanks,
    -Matthew

  32. Thanks Graph paper press for the template… nice work and thanks Chandra.

I too am having the issue where if I just put in one image and don’t insert into post, the image will not show up on the homepage as a thumbnail or on the post as a larger image.

If I do click insert into post, I get two images, a medium and a large on the post.

Will try get it to work without inserting into post once uploading but have tried about 20 iamges to no avail.

Thanks again for a lovely design.

  36. does work-a-holic work with HD Video?

    Thanks!

  37. twitter is not function anymore after I updated my WP version to 2.8.3.
I dont know the source of this problem.

  38. Wondering,,, how to download?????

  39. Really simple question…

    How do I replace the;

    …with my own text?

Which file do I need to edit, and where can I find and edit it?

    Thank you

  40. a couple of questions ….

    1. same question as threegp above. i know this must be simple, but i cannot find the location.

    2. i want to show multiple photos embedded within the text of a blog or portfolio entry. When i “insert into post” it inserts to the post but also into the top image of the post along with the primary image. is there a way to keep it from embedding into the top part? i only want one image on the top part and the other “inserted” images to be seen in the post itself among the text.

hoping another user has encountered and solved the same problem. if there is no solution i may need to change to a different template… (yet again)!

    thank you!

    • Try embedding the photos via html. Upload them to your server, then take the url’s and in the HTML post area.

This shouldn’t add the photos to the top, but should add them to the bottom.

I haven’t tried this, its just a theory, so let me know if it works out.

      • good idea about embedding w/ html. i haven’t been able to get it to work just yet… i’ll have to give it a shot again.

i found out how to change the “hi! We design beautiful websites…” greeting. it’s in the Main Index Template (index.php) file. called “introduction”

  41. Okay, somehow I managed to screw up my “Portfolio” heading on the homepage, by replacing it with the word “Services”. It must have broken a connection somehow, because now I have something besides Services that says “No Categories”.

I can’t get rid of the “No Categories” thing! And yes, I’ve tried creating categories, but it’s still there!

Also, I went back into the code to put “Portfolio” back in where it was before, but now I can’t find “Services” anywhere to replace it.

Any suggestions AT ALL would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Otherwise, I love this theme!

    • i have the same problem with the no categories thing. also, can’t get my portfolio/blog posts to link up with the portfolio/blog header. not sure how to fix the link ….

    • Go into “theme options” and put the appropriate number for your blog category. Chandra also shows this in his video. Hopefully that will fix your problem

  42. Hi!
I’m using Work-a-holic for my website http://diebeiden.eu and I think it is really amazing. But I’ve got two questions.
First: Is it possible to show and see the pictures I’ve posted in the portfolio section also in the RSS-feed?
Second: How can I enable comments in the portfolio section?

I hope someone can help my.
    Thanks.
    Bye.

  43. thank yo for sharing

  44. That is what I have been looking for, for my portfolio. Unfortunately I’ve had to switch servers and somehow now the Workaholic doesn’t create the thumbnails, only the high resolution image. I’ve tried even to downgrade to WordPress 2.8.2 as this was the last known version that worked perfectly, but this doesn’t help. I even de-activated and re-activated the theme, re-entered the dimensions in the Media options page, no luck – still only 1 picture, which is also used as a stretched thumbnail. Please, Chandra – help, I don’t want to look AGAIN for another theme. Pleeeeeez :)

  45. Hey,

Sorry for my last message – everything is okay with the theme, it’s just that our new server lacked GD installed…you can imagine :) Sorry for bothering you -terrific job, btw – and make sure you check my portfolio at http://www.neogrey.com :)

  46. Hello Chandra,

I am looking at the workaholic template and I would like to change the “Portfolio” tab to something else like “work” or “projects”. Is there a simple way to do such a thing? I appreciate all the hard work you put into this, it is truly a gift for everyone!

    James

    • In the theme editor, go to ‘Header (header.php)’ and scroll down until you find the html code that defines the Portfolio tab.

Here you can change the word ‘Portfolio’ to whatever you want :)

  47. Great job! I think this is really close to what I’ve been looking for in a theme. As much as I like the idea, and overall look and feel, behind Fullscreen, it’s a bit too busy for me. This is cleaner and easier to use IMHO.

  48. nice job…thumbs up for those themes maker..

  49. It is very informative. Thanks for sharing it.
I’m new to the blogging business. What you’ve offered in your post is very helpful. I’d love to learn more about this topic. I’ve bookmarked your blog. Looking forwards for your new posts.
    Keep working.
