Modslider is a child theme for the Modularity theme framework that features a JQuery content slider to scroll through your site content, drop-down navigation, a minimalist monochromatic color palette, along with a theme options page that is packed with customizable features. The demo site only shows just a few of the many possible homepage layouts, which can all be configured on the theme options page.
Important
You must have Modularity installed in your theme folder in order for this child theme to function. If it is installed, simply upload and activate Modslider just as you would any normal theme. Modslider overrides specific Modularity template files, giving the multimedia theme framework a facelift and alternative design features. Enjoy!
Looks like a great theme! I love how the slideshow puts the user in control, while still showing off the blog content. I’m just playing with your other child theme, Modfolio.
I sure am glad I joined your theme club in November…keep up the quality work guys!
Wow I must say it’s wonderful. That’s what I’ve been waiting for. simple and clen also catching eyes on post. excellent job~ thanks
That really looks great. I grab and hope to use it in the future. I am going let my users get use to what I have. 🙂 Excellent job!!!!
I guess this doesn’t work with Modularity lite?
But definitely one of the slickest themes around!
I loved this theme, is very similar of what I had in mind for my blog. Can you, pelase tell me if is possible to have it without buying Modularity´s license?
Thank you!
Love the theme. Is it possible to put your HD video player inside the top slider (in place of the bmxer photo)?
got this error msg when installing
“Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.”
help anyone?
You need Modularity. Please read the instructions above.
I have modularity installed and activated. I get this same error after uploading.
Modularity is most certainly installed (and works fine on its own) but I can’t get modslider to work because of this error !
Is this theme usable with modularity lite?
No. You need Modularity.
That’s a shame, I’ve been looking for a wordpress theme that displays content exactly like this!
Does this work with WordPress 2.7??
Yep.
I tried uploading it up to 2.7 and it said that the template is missing. HELP!
Hi Thad,
I when i installed the new theme and tried to enable the sliders and so, the category selector only displyed the following: 0″ value =”1.
Both Modslider and Modularity can’t display my categories.
Is there something i can do?
What version of WordPress are you using? What version of Modularity?
Is this an seo optimized theme?
Yes. That said, you can always add more SEO using SEO plugins.
I want to install this Modslider theme, which according to your instructions requires that I install Modularity first. But when I go to download the theme, I don’t see Modularity. What should I do?
Modularity is there, I promise. Please look again.
Thad,
Brand new to your themes (they rock by the way-awesome) and it looks like these threads indicates that you need to purchase Modularity membership in order to use Modslider. Per the note above I don’t see the Modularity Zip file in my member access and I believe that is because I am a free member currently. What is confusing is if Modslider is a free theme, but in order to use it, you must pay for Modularity.
No worries either way, just try to see if Modslider is an option on my current membership level. If not, then I’ll know I need to upgrade if I want to use it.
Keep up the good work.
LG
Love the theme here. Are you able to access HD video through this module?
Are you able to eliminate the latest post and sidebar and just have the row of (4) categories? Can you change it so that instead of categories they are latest posts?
Hi,
in the modularity demo the image galleries in the posts come with a nice lightbox-plugin. How can I install it?
Thank you.
Ok problem solved: I just install ShadowboxJS plugin. 🙂

You have to have Modularity installed too. Modslider is a child theme for Modularity.
Thanks Great Post.
was anyone able to get a modslider that wasn’t broken? with so many inquiries about it, there seems to be a genuine problem with the zip file provided to the users that should be corrected.
is there an alternate location to download a zip file that’s complete for this?
Modslider is a child theme for Modularity. You must have Modularity installed for Modslider to work.

I continue to be impressed by your themes and how they are evolving. I think your company is one of the top 10 wordpress developers right now. Keep up the good work and looking forward to what you have coming next. Would love to see more seo optimized layouts for content websites…
I have installed both Modularity and Modslider. Once I activated Modslider it seems I can not turn off the blog, and a giant black box appears below the slideshow area. Also I am not seeing the theme customization as being any different from when Modularity was active instead. Am I missing something here?
Very Nice Theme I must say… WordPress is Such a Strong platform and so much flexible… It has room for everyone 🙂
Thanks for developing such nice themes.
